01 / THE DOCUMENTED EVENTS
What is on the public record.
In November 2022, a Pottery Barn Kids advertising video prompted negative comments about Jessica Simpson's perceived thinness. Reports about related speculation were still referring to the video in 2023. Termination of the partnership or financial harm to the brand has not been established.
Even advertising for a product that makes no medical or aesthetic claims can be overshadowed by debate about its ambassador.
03 / WHERE HPA COULD HELP
Where thoughtful care could make a contribution.
A personal appearance calendar and expert assessment of the individual's own concerns could support preparation. HPA would neither diagnose someone from a video nor prescribe a physique preferred by viewers. Joint approval of campaign material and the handling of comments remain with the individual, production and communications teams. A specific clinical contribution is justified only by a real individual concern.
These publicly documented cases illustrate different risks: contract disputes, conflicting advertising claims, interrupted care and later negative associations with a brand. The people and companies are editorial case studies; their inclusion does not imply that HPA has cared for them. Each HPA perspective is a hypothetical application of our proposed services, not evidence that HPA could have prevented the events described.
These editorial portraits identify the people discussed. They may have been taken at a different time from the events in the case study. We draw no clinical findings or conclusions about treatment needs from their appearance.
